Barah Broq Trek | Mosses Peak Base Camp

Barah Broq Trek, one of the greatest and fastest routes to see K2 is via Barah Broq. Not only that, but also offers a glimpse of the traditional Karakoram landscape and the opportunity to interact with local communities that don’t often get visitors.

The problem is that not many people are familiar with Barah Broq. It’s only recently gained popularity as a hiking destination, and there’s not much to no information available about how to get there.

The Barah Broq Trek is intended for families that like to hike. a peak that local photographer and trekking enthusiast Mr. Musa Khan just visited for the first time. The Moses Peak located in Karakoram Range in Barah Valley. This mountain tower is in an open area, and climbing it does not require a trekking permission is the payment of the Peak Royalty.

Fastest Route to See 7000+ Meter Peaks

This peak’s unique feature is the breathtaking view of almost all the other 7000+ peaks in the area, such as Nangaparbat, Spantik, Latok, Broadpeak, Mashabrom, Ghashabrom1/2/3/4/, Chogholingsa, Baltoro kangri, Sia kangri, K-7, K-6, K12, and many more snow-covered peaks. The K-2 is the second highest peak in the world. A simple, beautiful four to five day trip that starts at the Moses Peak base camp and returns to Barah Village. The path is situated in a public area.

Detailed Itinerary

 

Day 01 (Islamabad Arrival)

  • Greetings from Pakistan. You’re going to the Islamabad International Airport today.
  • After a friendly greeting at the airport, our representative will transport you to your Islamabad hotel.
  • As a welcome beverage, the hotel will serve you tea or coffee. Take this chance to socialize with other trekkers.
  • Take a nap to recuperate from your lengthy flight after the drink. We will get together over dinner to go over specifics regarding your trek to Barah Broq Trek.
  • Transfer to hotel for overnight stay

 

Day 02 (Islamabad – Skardu & Kachura) (7,316 ft.) (45 Minutes flight)

  • Breakfast early in the morning
  • Drop guests at Islamabad Airport
  • Pick Guests from Skardu Airport
  • Head towards Kachura to explore
  • Shangrila Resort
  • Kachura Valley
  • Upper Kachura Lake
  • Xoq Valley
  • Return to Skardu
  • Transfer to hotel for night stay

In Case of flight Cancellation we will head towards Skardu via Karakoram High way to reach Skardu (14-16 Hours’ Drive)

 

Day 03 (Sight-seeing in Skardu)

  • Breakfast early in the morning
  • You will hike up to the ruins of the early 1700s Kharpocho Fort in the morning, which overlooks the town and offers a breathtaking view of the Indus River.
  • This is the ideal spot, if you enjoy photography, to capture images of Skardu Town at dawn or dusk.
  • Next, on foot, we will arrive at Organic Village, a tiny village where all of the crops are grown organically. You can explore during the afternoon.
  • You will also take a Jeep tour to Satpara Lake
  • Visit Local bazar
  • Transfer to hotel for overnight stay

 

Day 04 (Islamabad – Skardu, Kachura Valley & Barah Valley)

  • Breakfast early in the morning
  • Head towards Barah Valley
  • Reaches Barah Valley
  • Transfer to hotel for overnight stay

 

Day 05 (Barah Valley – Camp 01)

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • The trek starts from Barah Valley
  • Trek alongside the fresh stream water
  • After 2-3 hours of walking, Reaches Camp 01 (3100 Meters)
  • Set up Camps for Night stay

 

Day 06 (Camp 01 – Camp 02)

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • The journey starts
  • The trek starts getting away from stream
  • The difficulty also increases as we headed to higher ground
  • Finally reaches plain surface near the summer houses of local shepherds (4200 Meters)
  • Set up Camps for Night stay

 

Day 07 (Camp 02 – The Twin Lakes)

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • The journey starts towards Lake
  • Crosses big rock, small streams and enters in to wide meadows
  • Finally reaches the twin lakes (4900 Meters)
  • Set up Camps for Night stay

 

Day 08 (Moses Peak)

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • Starts the final phase of trek i.e the summit to Mosses peak
  • The trek is not much difficult and it will take 3-4 hours to climb the peak (5,700 Meters)
  • The trek starts at 04 AM and plan to reach the top by 09 AM
  • From the peak one can see all the highest peak of the region
  • After summit, return to base camp
  • Start our journey to Barah Valley
  • Set up Camps for Night stay

 

Day 09 (Moses Peak – Barah Valley – Skardu)

 

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • Return to Barah valley
  • Head towards Skardu
  • Reaches Skardu & Transfer to Hotel for Night stay

 

Day 10 (Skardu – Islamabad) (45 Minutes flight)

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • Drop Guests at Skardu Airport
  • Reaches Islamabad

 

OR

 

  • In the event that inclement weather forces the cancellation of the flight, you will proceed from Juglot Skardu Road till you reach Juglot and from Juglot till Hazara Motorway, you will move by Karakoram Highway to Islamabad via road.
  • With Nanga Parbat (8,126 meters), the ninth-highest mountain in the world, as your backdrop, you can travel with an amazing view.
  • After a while, continue on the Karakoram Highway and pass through the Kaghan Valley and Babusar Pass (4,067 meters) to reach Mansehra City.
  • Rejoining the Karakoram Highway from Mansehra, you will travel through the historically significant and culturally rich cities of Hassan Abdal, Taxila, and Abbottabad before arriving in Islamabad.
  • It will be late afternoon when you arrive.

 

Day 11 (Spare Day in Islamabad)

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • You have the entire day to explore the green capital city of Islamabad if you were able to catch a flight there yesterday.
  • See the Islamabad Monument, Parliament Square, and the Faisal Mosque before traveling to the nearby city of Rawalpindi.
  • The historical and traditional city of Rawalpindi will introduce you to the flavors of southern Pakistan. Situated on the Pothohar Plateau, which is well-known for its long history of Buddhism, particularly in the nearby town of Taxila.
  • Enjoy a local Pakistani curry at the Magnificent Food Streets for your final meal in Pakistan after a full day of sightseeing.
  • Transfer to hotel for overnight stay

 

Day 12 (Departure | Fly Back Home)

  • Breakfast at early in the morning
  • You will be taken to Islamabad International Airport for your flight home after breakfast. “Barah Broq Trek | Mosses Peak Trek” has ended.
