K6 Base Camp Trek

Charakusa Valley, Hushe | K6 Base Camp Trek

The K6 Base Camp Trek, Charakusa Valley Trek is one of the Karakorum’s shorter, simpler, and more fascinating hikes. The well-known summits K-7 and K-6 are situated in the Chakarusa valley glacier in Hushe. Laila Peak, the most stunning peak in the Karakoram, is located in Gandogoro Valley, whereas K6, sometimes referred to as Baltistan Peak, is located in the Masherbrum region of the Karakorum Mountains.

The two trekking routes are moderately difficult. Quite difficult, nevertheless, compared to the Masherbrum Peak base camp hike. The most popular route to reach K6 Base Camp is via Hushe Valley, which you may reach via the K-6 Charakusa Valley Trek. Due to the basecamp is on the northwest border of the Nangmah glacier. Compared to the Laila Peak base camp trip, the K-6-7 route is calmer and less travelling.

For both trips, the first day’s climb up to Shaicho Camp is the same. Because the right path leads to K6 and K7, and the left way goes to the Gondogoro valley for the Khiuspang Laila Peak location. Laila Peak & K1, can be seen at closed quarters when trekking up to Khiuspang.

The Gandogoro Pass base camp on the Hushe side is located in Khiuspang. Trekking K6 and K7 will also let you to observe the peaks of Ling Sar, Drifica, and Kapora. K6 Charakusa Valley trek is affordable and more engaging comparing to Baltoro and other base camp treks, because the towering granite walls that encircle the valley appear to meet in the sky and this location is so beautiful.
